Are you ready to take your game to the next level?
Checkmate Basketball is looking for dedicated and skilled young athletes to join our 6th grade (Class of 2033) team!
Tryouts will be held at a to-be-determined time/date/location, where we will evaluate players based on skill, effort, teamwork, and coachability. At the conclusion of tryouts, 10 to 12 athletes will be selected to be part of the 2027 Checkmate Basketball roster.
What to Expect at Tryouts
Skill Drills
Ball-handling, shooting, defense, and footwork evaluation.
Game Play
3-on-3 and 5-on-5 scrimmages to assess court awareness and team play.
Effort & Attitude
We’re looking for players who give 100% and are ready to learn and grow.
